Other Uses & Notes: Paw paw trees can be planted as specimen trees or allowed to grow in clumps as windscreens. They are gaining in popularity due to their unusual, edible fruit that tastes like a mix of mango, banana and citrus and they are North America’s largest native fruit. Paw Paws also require a certain number of “chill hours” (temps between 32F and 45F) to break dormancy and set fruit successfully.
