Donate to the Ottawa Conservation District - Truck Fundraiser
Help us purchase a new truck!
During recent storms, a large tree fell over in our parking lot...directly on top of one of our work trucks. While we are receiving a little money from insurance, its unfortunately not enough to purchase a used truck in good condition. Our goal is to raise an additional $15,000 to purchase a vehicle that will allow us to continue our work while also keeping our staff safe on the roads!
Our invasive species teams use our trucks the most to deliver necessary treatments to Hemlock Trees to protect from invasive Hemlock Wooly Adelgid and to control other aquatic and terrestrial invasive plants seasonally such as European Frog-Bit, Japanese Knotweed, Black Swallow-wort and more. Other staff in the office also use our trucks to conduct site visits to create custom conservation plans for farmers, monitor water quality conditions in streams and lakes around the County, and to attend and host community events to spread awareness of Ottawa County natural resource issues and resources available.
For the month of August only, please consider making a donation to the Ottawa Conservation District to help us achieve our fundraising goals and purchase a safe and reliable field truck. Not only does your donation support our local boots-on-the-ground conservation work, but you'll be eligible to receive a gift in return as well! We have limited stocks of our gifts so check out the donation tiers below and make your donation today!
For over 85 years, the Ottawa Conservation District has been your "Boots on the Ground" resource for natural resource management in Ottawa County. We direct and deliver community-based programs providing technical, educational, and financial assistance to address soil, water, forest and other natural resources issues on private and public lands. Your support allows us to continue the vital work of keeping our local farms sustainable, our native habitats intact, and improving our environment for future generations in Ottawa County.
